Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vertical Lathe / Borer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating vertical lathes and borers to produce precision components in accordance with engineering specifications. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Operate vertical lathes and borers to manufacture components as per technical drawings and specifications.
- Assemble components using hand tools and machinery, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including checking logic controllers and making minor repairs as needed.
- Conduct materials handling tasks, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the workshop.
- Apply basic maths skills to measure and calculate dimensions accurately during the machining process.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimise production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating vertical lathes or similar machinery is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are required.
- Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently within a workshop environment.
