We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Upholsterer. This role involves hands-on work in manufacturing of wheelchairs. The ideal candidate will have experience with hand tools, sewing machines, power tools, and sewing techniques. This position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic setting, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and production excellence.

Working hours: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Thursday & 08:00-12:30 on Friday

Breaks: 30 minutes lunchbreak unpaid and 10 minutes break paid

Pay rate: £12.71 per hour

Key responsibilities

Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, sewing machines, and other equipment safely and efficiently
Working with plastic, cloth, leather and foam
Perform sewing tasks for manufacturing or auto restoration projects as needed
Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished work meets company standards
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and improve processes

Job requirements

Proven experience with sewing, sewing machines, and hand tools
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, assembly work, or auto restoration is preferred
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Basic understanding of safety procedures related to tool use and manufacturing settings
