We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shunter Driver to join our Clients’ logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for manoeuvring vehicles within our yard and ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to contribute to a dynamic transport operation.

Key responsibilities

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles within the yard and designated routes.
Manoeuvre lorries to designated loading, unloading, or parking areas with precision.
Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, deliveries, and pick-ups.
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other drivers to coordinate schedules.

Job requirements

Proven experience in driving flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles.
Strong knowledge of safe driving practices within busy yard environments.
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and time management.
Excellent manoeuvring skills, especially in confined spaces.
Ability to operate various types of commercial vehicles confidently.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
