Job Overview
We are seeking skilled PVC Extrusion Setters to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machinery such as Theysohn machine / setter to produce high-quality PVC products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in fabrication and materials handling.

Working Hours: 06:00AM – 18:00PM Monday to Thursday

May sometimes be required to work Fridays

Pay Rate: £13.50 – £16.00 (Dependent on experience)

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate PVC extrusion machinery in accordance with production specifications
  • Monitor extrusion processes to ensure consistent product quality and optimise machine performance
  • Adjust process parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems
  • Conduct routine inspections of tooling and equipment, performing basic maintenance as required
  • Handle materials efficiently, including loading raw materials and managing waste disposal
  • Troubleshoot technical issues using mechanical knowledge, hand tools, and welding skills
  • Document production data accurately, including process adjustments and quality checks
  • Collaborate with the fabrication, assembly, and warehouse teams to meet production targets
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to safety standards

Job requirements

  • Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments, preferably within plastics or PVC extrusion processes
  • Must be familiar with Temperature settings, Melting points, Filtration, Cutting and Cooling procedures
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes
  • Knowledge of milling, welding, tooling, and materials handling techniques
  • Competence in using hand tools and basic maths for measurements and calculations
  • Warehouse experience or background in assembly is advantageous
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in CAD design or tooling setup is highly desirable
  • Previous exposure to welding processes and the use of various hand tools will be considered a plus
