Job description

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit experienced Extrusion Setters to support our Clients’ production within a busy manufacturing environment.

This role is ideally suited to candidates with co-extrusion experience, particularly within wire coating, hose extrusion, or pipe extrusion environments.

Applicants must have hands-on experience working with materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon. Previous experience as an Extrusion Setter is essential, including setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and packing production lines. Please note that blown film extrusion experience alone will not be suitable for this position.

Day Shifts

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 6:00pm (48 hours per week)
  • Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 7:00pm (48 hours per week)

Rotating Shifts

  • Weeks 1 & 2: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00am – 6:00pm, Thursday 6:00am – 12:00pm
  • Weeks 3 & 4: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00pm – 6:00am

Key responsibilities

 

  • Set and operate extrusion machines in line with setting sheets and production requirements.
  • Produce products to specification and quality standards.
  • Complete preventative maintenance activities (TPM).
  • Transport product and raw materials as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, including cleaning and routine upkeep.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials and finished products.
  • Keep production and quality records accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards through 5S practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production area.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

Job requirements

 

  • Proven experience setting and running extrusion machines.
  • Co-extrusion experience within wire coating, hose extrusion, or pipe extrusion.
  • Experience working with PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.
  • Previous experience setting up and packing production lines.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated individual with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Job benefits

Salary

  • £14.00 per hour and above, depending on experience
  • 22% shift allowance for rotating shifts
  • 25% shift allowance for night shifts
